Man Arrested Following Fatal Assault in Lucan, Co Dublin

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the fatal assault of a man in his 40s in Lucan, Co Dublin. The incident occurred at a residence on Old Bridge Park, where GardaĆ­ were alerted around 8 a.m. on the morning of the incident.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim inside the property. Despite attempts to provide assistance, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been removed for further examination.

The arrested individual is currently being held at a Garda station in west Dublin as the investigation continues. Authorities have preserved the scene for a thorough forensic and technical examination. A post-mortem examination has also been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.

The coroner has been notified, and both the Garda Technical Bureau and the state pathologist have been called in to assist with the investigation. A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to lead the case, and an incident room has been established at Lucan Garda Station.

To ensure support for the family of the deceased, a family liaison officer will be appointed to assist them during this difficult time.
