Corrib Oil Plans Major Expansion, Aims for 100 Stores and 1,200 New Jobs by 2030

Service station and energy company Corrib Oil has unveiled ambitious plans to more than double its store presence across Ireland, targeting 100 locations by 2030 and creating 1,200 new jobs in the process.

As part of its expansion programme, the company will open at least four new service stations in 2025, starting with a new outlet on Model Farm Road in Cork, set to launch this month. The Cork location alone will generate 30 new jobs.

Corrib Oil’s growth strategy will involve a mix of new site developments and strategic acquisitions. Recruitment is already underway for a range of positions, including store management, retail, operations, supply chain, logistics, and head office roles.

Currently, Corrib Oil employs 1,150 people and operates 38 service station stores across 17 counties.

Wendy’s Partnership to Bring Fast-Food Expansion

In addition to its service station growth, Corrib Oil is also entering the fast-food sector. In November 2024, the company announced a partnership with U.S. fast-food giant Wendy’s, becoming its exclusive Irish franchise partner.

Under the deal, 10 Wendy’s restaurants will open in Ireland over the next two years, with some locations operating as standalone restaurants and others integrated into existing Corrib service stations.

CEO Highlights Growth Strategy

Announcing the retail expansion programme, Corrib Oil CEO Eugene Dalton said the company’s strategy reflects a commitment to meeting the fuel, retail, and service station needs of local communities.

“We have been growing our retail footprint over recent years, reflecting our firm focus on meeting the fuel, retail, and service station needs of communities,” Dalton said.

“This expansion programme fast-tracks that growth further,” he added.

Corrib Oil’s aggressive expansion signals continued investment in Ireland’s retail and energy sectors, creating new job opportunities while enhancing its nationwide presence.
