William Reeve Set to Lead Augmentum Fintech as New Chair

Sky News has learned that Augmentum Fintech, a London-listed investment company, is poised to appoint William Reeve as its new chairman. An official announcement regarding his appointment could be made as soon as Monday.

Reeve, one of Britain’s most seasoned start-up entrepreneurs, is best known for co-founding Lovefilm, the DVD rental service that was sold to Amazon, and Secret Escapes, a successful online travel platform that has garnered significant backing from institutional investors. His extensive experience in the tech industry also includes chairing prominent companies such as Nutmeg, the wealth management app acquired by JP Morgan, and Graze.com, a subscription snack service that attracted private equity giant Carlyle.

Currently, Reeve serves as the chief executive of Goodlord, a property technology firm, and he is a board member of Dunelm, a home furnishings retailer. However, he is expected to step down from the Dunelm board next month to focus on his new role at Augmentum Fintech.

At Augmentum Fintech, Reeve will take the helm of a company that has invested in more than 25 businesses since its inception. Notable investments include Interactive Investor, which was sold to fund manager Abrdn, and Farewill, a financial and legal services platform. Reeve’s leadership is anticipated to steer Augmentum through its next phase of growth and innovation.

As the new chairman, Reeve will bring a wealth of experience and a track record of successful entrepreneurship to Augmentum, positioning the firm to capitalize on emerging opportunities within the fintech sector.

Augmentum Fintech has not responded to requests for comment regarding Reeve’s appointment as of Sunday.
