Police Investigate Sudden Death in Enniskillen as Detectives Conduct Door-to-Door Enquiries

Police in County Fermanagh are investigating the circumstances surrounding a sudden death after a body was discovered at a house in Enniskillen late on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to the property in Corban Drive after reports of an incident shortly after 10pm. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service confirmed it received a 999 call at 10.21pm and dispatched two ambulances to the scene.

Paramedics assessed the situation after arriving at the address but no one was taken to hospital.

Police later confirmed that a man had been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody while detectives continue their investigation.

“Detectives are carrying out door-to-door enquiries at the scene of a sudden death in Co Fermanagh,” police said, adding that “a body was found at a house in Corban Drive in Enniskillen last night.”

Officers remained at the scene on Sunday morning as investigations continued in the residential area on the edge of the town. Detectives were seen speaking with residents and gathering information that may help establish what happened.

Investigators have also been checking for CCTV footage from nearby homes and properties as part of their efforts to piece together events leading up to the discovery of the body.

The incident has shaken the local community, where neighbours described the area as a quiet and close-knit neighbourhood. Residents said police activity in the street late at night had caused concern among those living nearby.

Local political representatives also responded to the news. Sinn Féin MLA Jemma Dolan said the death had left many people in the community deeply shocked.

She said residents were struggling to come to terms with what had happened in their area and offered sympathy to those affected.

Dolan urged anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual to assist the investigation by contacting police.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the identity of the deceased or the circumstances surrounding the incident. A police presence remained in the area as officers continued their enquiries and gathered evidence.

Detectives are expected to conduct further interviews and forensic examinations as the investigation progresses. Police said information from residents could play an important role in helping them understand the events that led to the death.

Anyone with information about the incident is being encouraged to come forward and speak with investigators. Police said all details, no matter how small they may seem, could assist in establishing a clearer picture of what happened at the property in Corban Drive.
