Heavy rainfall and localised flooding affected parts of County Donegal, including Anagaire, Gaoth Dobhair, Gleann Cholm Cille, An Fál Carrach, and Gort an Choirce. The R230 road between Gleann Cholm Cille and MÃn an Aoire remained blocked after a landslide in Bráid, though Donegal County Council said it would aim to reopen the route today. Authorities advised motorists to exercise caution while traveling.
Met Éireann said unsettled weather is expected to continue over the Easter weekend. Easter Sunday is forecast to be bright and breezy, with sunny spells and scattered showers. On higher ground, some showers could fall as sleet or hail, with temperatures ranging from 7°C to 10°C.
Storm Dave was the fourth named storm of the season, part of a pre-selected list of 21 names coordinated by the Irish, UK, and Dutch national weather services. It caused widespread power outages and travel disruptions, highlighting the vulnerability of infrastructure during severe weather events.
