A woman in her 30s has died following a three-car collision on the N24 near Grange West, Boher in County Limerick. The crash occurred at approximately 11.10pm last night.

The woman, who was the sole occupant of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Gardaí confirmed that the driver of one of the other cars involved fled the scene and are actively seeking to identify them. The third driver, a man in his 40s, sustained injuries believed to be non-life-threatening and was also taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

The N24 between the R505 and L1132 remains closed while a technical examination of the scene is conducted. Gardaí have set up local diversions to manage traffic in the area.

Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users who were travelling on the N24 between 10.45pm and 11.30pm and who may have dash-cam or other camera footage are urged to contact Gardaí.

Those with information are asked to call Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any local Garda station.

This tragic incident marks another serious collision on Limerick roads in recent months, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety in the region. Gardaí continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the identity of the driver who left the scene.

Officials have stressed the importance of public cooperation to assist in the investigation. “Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has footage from the area is asked to contact us as soon as possible,” a spokesperson said.

As the investigation continues, the community has expressed shock at the fatal crash, while road users are reminded to exercise caution on the N24, particularly at night and in areas prone to heavy traffic.

The collision has prompted renewed calls for careful driving and vigilance on regional roads, as Gardaí work to piece together the events leading up to the fatal accident.
