Motorcyclist Killed in Glenageary Road Crash, Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses

A man in his 50s has died following a road collision in Glenageary, Co Dublin, on Thursday night.

According to Gardaí, the crash occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Sallyglen Road when the man’s motorcycle collided with a car. Emergency services responded swiftly, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been transferred to St Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown, where a post-mortem examination is set to take place.

The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was not injured in the crash.

Investigation and Road Closures

A technical examination of the crash site is currently being carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. As a result, the road remains closed with local diversions in place.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses, urging anyone who may have been in the area between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to come forward. They are particularly interested in camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from drivers who were travelling on Sallyglen Road at the time.

Separate Fatal Crash in Donegal

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a teenager and a young man have died in Donegal after the car they were travelling in crashed into a house. Two other occupants of the vehicle are currently in serious condition.

Further details on the Donegal crash have yet to be released, but authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads, particularly during poor weather conditions.

Both incidents have added to concerns over road safety in Ireland, with officials continuing to stress the importance of safe driving practices and vigilance.
