Weather Disrupts Allianz League Fixtures: Kerry vs Donegal Postponed

Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 1 match between Kerry and Donegal has been postponed due to severe weather conditions preventing Donegal from travelling. The game was set to take place at Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney, but following consultations with Croke Park and with further adverse weather expected over the weekend, the decision was made to call off the match.

The GAA has confirmed that the fixture will be rescheduled for the weekend of February 8-9, with the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) expected to confirm the details on Monday.

In a separate scheduling change, the Division 3 match between Leitrim and Laois, originally set to take place in Ballinamore on Saturday afternoon, has been rescheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. The delay comes after electrical issues caused by Storm Éowyn affected the venue. The GAA issued a statement noting that the situation would continue to be monitored in the lead-up to the game.

In Allianz Hurling League action, Westmeath’s fixture against Laois has been called off due to a frozen pitch, while Mayo’s match against Cavan was also postponed.

Additionally, a pitch inspection will take place ahead of Sunday’s Division 2 football clash between Westmeath and Louth to determine if the game can proceed as planned.

The ongoing poor weather conditions have led to significant disruption across the Allianz Leagues, with organizers closely monitoring the situation and making necessary adjustments.
